Teaching Awards & Grants
As a provider of learning and teaching support services to the university community, we recognize an obligation to acknowledge and reward excellence in teaching and to provide support for the scholarship of teaching and learning. We, therefore, provide consultative and administrative support for instructional development grants and teaching award applications.
The Instructional Development Grants program was initiated by the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Academic) to encourage creative and innovative practices in teaching and learning at Memorial. For faculty interested in making an application for project funding, we offer information sessions, consultations, and feedback on grant applications. In addition, we administer the application and approval processes for the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Academic). For further information, please contact Joyce Fewer.
DELTS also provides support to faculty in the preparation of applications and teaching dossiers for a variety of teaching awards including the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching, the Association of Atlantic Universities Distinguished Teaching Award, and the 3M National Teaching Fellowships among others. We administer the promotion, nomination and selection processes for the President's Award and, once winners are selected, we work with Memorial's Division of Marketing and Communications to ensure that your hard work and dedication is recognized. For further information, please contact Allyson Hajek.
