Educational Assessment (PS)
Format: World Wide Web
Explores educational assessment, focusing on four areas: classroom tests - considerable time is devoted to constructing teacher-made tests, both essay and various types of objective tests; standardized tests - consideration is given to the selection and use of standardized tests appropriate to the school situation; student products - those appropriate to various school subjects are considered, as well as assessment criteria; observational tools - construction and use of rating scales, check lists, sociometric devices, etc., are explored. After assessment data are received, time is devoted to the presentation and analysis of that data in the form of elementary statistics. Concluding units look at the application of assessment data in reporting to students and parents and a look ahead to recent emerging trends in assessment.
