This course examines the theoretical and practical aspects of collaborative practice within an interagency model of case planning for students with diverse learning needs. Emphasis is on exploring issues of power/empowerment, consultation, communication, conflict resolution/problem-solving, advocacy and collaboration. Perspectives of parents and families, educators, and community resource professionals will be explored. The course strives to create a family-focused approach to effective planning in contemporary schools.Prerequisites: Reserved for students with BSE designations.
